Here, the Mosaic Hunter Silk made in Byzantium,in the Eastern Roman Empire, is expressed through a screen.
The base motif comes from what is believed to be a gift to the Western Roman Emperor from the second emperor of the Eastern Roman Empire in the beginning of the 9th century.
Like those fabrics found on the Viking ships, the design of the medallion with its hunting images derives from the hunting legend of the 5th century Sassanid King Bahram V.
